A few years ago, I was attending an ASHHRA conference and was in a learning session when I received a text from a colleague who said, "I am in an incredible learning session with Chip Madera that you have to come to right now."
I left my learning session immediately and joined what was already a packed room and growing. Chip spoke of leadership courage and other aspects of leadership accountability and did so in a motivating and empowering manner. As a member of the ASHHRA Board of Directors, I encouraged our Board to consider him as a keynote speaker at the conference the following year, which we did.
